Looking for a Plan A alternative?

Plan A: German ESG platform with a strong focus on EU regulatory compliance. If your main job is CSRD/ESRS or VSME reporting, these are the options worth comparing, including when Plan A is still the better choice.

Certigence or Plan A?

  • Choose Certigence if: You want a self-serve CSRD platform with published pricing and Nordic context.
  • Choose Plan A if: You are a large enterprise that values an established German vendor relationship and deep carbon methodology.

Stay with Plan A if this matters most

  • An established track record and case studies with large European enterprises, which can matter in procurement.
  • A mature emissions calculation engine validated against GHG Protocol methodology for many industries.

Other Plan A alternatives

Each of these is a credible tool for a different job. Pick by the problem you need to solve first.

  • Sweep: French carbon accounting platform with strong supply chain emissions tracking.
  • Briink: AI-first EU CSRD compliance platform with strong ESRS taxonomy mapping.
  • Persefoni: US enterprise carbon management platform focused on TCFD and the financial sector.
  • Watershed: US enterprise carbon management platform with high-quality emissions data.

Moving from Plan A to Certigence

There is no automated import from other ESG tools. Most teams re-create the materiality outcome and carry over their carbon figures from their latest export.

  • Create a free account and find your company: Claim your public Certigence profile, or register the company if it is not listed yet.
  • Run the double materiality assessment: Use the Double Materiality Wizard to record impacts, risks and opportunities. Your previous assessment is the input.
  • Enter Scope 1, 2 and 3 data: Carry over activity data and totals from your Plan A export into carbon accounting (Professional and Enterprise).
  • Run the gap analysis and export: See which ESRS disclosures are still missing, then export the statement as PDF or CSV.

FAQ

Can I import my data from Plan A?

Not automatically. Certigence has no import connector for Plan A; carbon figures and materiality outcomes are entered in Certigence, usually from your latest export.

Is Certigence a good fit for my company?

Certigence fits European, especially Nordic, small and mid-sized companies answering ESG requests or preparing CSRD/VSME reporting without a sustainability team. It is not a fit if: You need iXBRL/ESEF tagging from the reporting tool itself. Certigence exports PDF and CSV; your filing agent does the tagging. Your main job is collecting Scope 3 primary data from thousands of suppliers. You report under US SEC, TCFD or PCAF rather than CSRD/ESRS or VSME. You need assurance. Certigence prepares the evidence trail for your auditor but does not issue assurance. You need to push data in programmatically. The Data API is read-only and starts on Professional.

What does Certigence cost?

Searching ratings and claiming your profile is free. Starter (€490/month) and Professional (€990/month) are self-serve with monthly or annual billing; annual billing costs ten months' price. Enterprise is quoted. Current prices are on the pricing page.
